The Internet Of Things is a term growing exponentially.

It is about all the internet connected devices that we have in our home, while remaining aware the list of devices is growing fast.

The internet of things is the concept of connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet and to each other.

According to a recent survey, the average Australian home now has 13.7 internet connected devices in our homes.

Telsyte’s research predicts that the average Australian home will have 30.7 connected devices by the year 2021, which would be an overall growth of 124% in just four years, this means that there will be an impact for all.

We, of course, know of our computers, tablets, and smartphones. But let’s not forget our TV that many now hook up to our internet, and WiFi to download and stream content.

What else is part of the growing internet of things category? You may be surprised… but you can consider:

  • Air conditioners
  • Ovens
  • Coffee machines
  • Solar panels
  • Door locks,
  • Hot water systems
  • Sprinklers
  • Lighting
  • Security cameras and sensors
  • Fridges

This list will just grow over time as the Internet Of Things expands.
