“My WiFi in my home or business is not working as it should”, is a common issue, and a question I am asked frequently, says Richard Pascoe, Technology Consultant.

It is especially important when it comes to home automation as we rely on WiFi and our internet connection to make our, home automation, our hub and devices work. So what can interfere with my WiFi?

Well, check these…

  • Microwave
  • Fridge
  • Speakers
  • Lamps
  • Cordless Phone
  • Baby monitor
  • Christmas lights
  • Fish tanks
  • and even mirrors!

That’s right!

So. What can we do to fix these issues? We asked our expert.

Richard Pascoe, Technology Consultant recommends:

  1. You may need to change your WiFi router (it maybe too old or is not working effectively anymore).
  2. You may need an extender that is ideally compatible with your current WiFi router.
  3. Or, in a larger home, you may wish to try a “mesh “ network such as Googles WiFi. This will involve placing more than one in your home (ideally 3 that cover large areas) that should result in a steady and reliable WiFi  connection.
